9、im.However,hecouldnotstartatoncebecausehewasonthepointofflyingtoIndiawherehewouldhavenotimetohimself.OnhisreturntoCalifornia,inFebruary1983,hedictatedthefirstofthepiecescontainedinthisvolumeintoanewSonytape-recorder.Allthedictationsexceptonewererecordedfromhishome,PineCottage,i

10、ntheOjaiValley,someeightymilesnorthofLosAngeles.Hewoulddictateinthemornings,whileinbedafterbreakfast,undisturbed.KrishnamurtihadfirststayedatPineCottagewithhisbrotherin1922,whenitwaslenttohimbyafriend,anditwasthere,inAugust,'22,thatheunderwentaspiritualexperiencethattransformed
