5、les.WefindthattheaverageallelefrequencydivergenceishighlypredictiveofthemostextremeFSTvaluesacrossthewholegenome.Onabroadscale,thegeographicdistributionofputativelyselectedallelesalmostinvariablyconformstopopulationclustersidentifiedusingrandomlychosengeneticmar
6、kers.Giventhisstructure,therearesurprisinglyfewfixedornearlyfixeddifferencesbetweenhumanpopulations.Amongthenearlyfixeddifferencesthatdoexist,nearlyallareduetofixationeventsthatoccurredoutsideofAfrica,andmostappearinEastAsia.Thesepatternssuggestthatselectionisof
