2、noutwasinvestigatedinbothfieldtestsandlaboratoryexperiments.Theeffectofcoalproperty,operationcondition,gas-solidmixing,chardeactivation,residencetime,andcycloneperformanceareanalyzedseriatimbasedonalargeamountofexperimentalresults.Acoalindexisproposedto

3、describethecoalrank,havingastrongeffectonthecharburnout.Badgas-solidmixinginthefurnaceisanotherimportantreasonofthehighercarboncontentintheflyash.Somecharsintheflyasharedeactivatedduringcombustionoflargecoalparticlesandhaveverylowcarbonreactivity.Severa

4、lsuggestionsaremadeaboutdesign,operation,andmodificationtoreducethecarboncontentintheflyash.IntroductionWiththeadvantagesoffuelflexibilityandlowpollutantemission,circulatingfluidizedbed(CFB)combustiontechnologyhasbeendevelopedrapidlyinpowergeneration.Th

5、ecapacityofCFBpowerplantshasbeengrowingsteadilyeversincethecommercializationofthetechnologyinthelate1970s.Currently,themaximumcapacityofasingleCFButilityboilerisontheorderof300MWeandmorelargecapacityunitsof600and800MWesupercriticalpressureCFBboilersared

6、eveloping.ThedevelopmentofCFBboilersinChinastartedinthe1980s,andthemaximumcapacityforasingleunithasbeenincreasingyearafteryear,asshowninFigure1.Thereareover1000CFBboilersinoperationupto2004,includingover20unitsabove135MWe.Inaddition,80unitsof135MWeand10

7、unitsof300MWeCFBboilersareinconstructionoronorder.Figure1Maximumcapacityforasingleunit.However,itisafactthatthecombustionefficiencyofCFBboilersislowerthanthatofpulverizedcoalfired(PC)boilers,thoughhighcombustionefficiencywasreportedintheCFBmarketabroad.
