2、ingorassemblybyenterpriseswithinthemainland.Itincludesprocessingwithsuppliedmaterialsandprocessingwithimportedmaterials.Underprocessingwithsuppliedmaterials,theimportedmaterialsandpartsaresuppliedbytheforeignpartywhichisalsoresponsibleforsellingthefinishedpro

3、ducts.Thebusinessenterprisedoesnothavetomakeforeignexchangepaymentfortheimportsandonlychargestheforeignpartyaprocessingfee.Underprocessingwithimportedmaterials,thebusinessenterprisemakesforeignexchangepaymentfortheimportedmaterialsandpartsandexportsthefinishe

4、dproductsafterprocessing.Sincetheprocessingtradepolicywasimplementedinlate1970s,theprocessingtradeinChinahasbeendevelopinginasustainedandrapidmanner;thetotalvolumeofexportsandimportsintheformofprocessingtradeincreasedfromUS$2.5billionin1981toUS$831.9billionin

5、2006,upbynearly333times,anditsproportioninforeigntradeincreasedfrom5.7percentto48.6percent.TheDepartmentofMechanic,ElectronicandHi-TechIndustryoftheCommerceMinistryofPRCstatedthatwhatwasmoresatisfactorythananincreaseinquantitywasthatastheprocessingtradedevelo

6、pedcontinuallyandrapidly,thetransformationandupgradingofprocessingtradehadbeenaccelerated.Moreandmoreforeign-fundedenterprisestransferredtheirprocessingandmanufacturewithahighertechnologylevelandalargerappreciationcontenttoChina;influencedbythetechnologyandma

7、nagementspillovereffectsinprocessingtrade,moreandmoreChinesecompanieshadspeededuptheirtechnologyimprovementandindustrialupgrading.Theindustrialstructureinprocessingtradehasbeencontinuouslyoptimized.DuringtheTenthFive-YearPlanperiod,theexportvaluerealizedinthe

8、processingtradeofmechanicandelectronicproductsamountedtoUS$928.2billion,accountingfor70.7percentofthetotalprocessingtradeexportvalueand74.0%ofthetotalexportvalueformechanicandelectronicpr
