3、ndintroductionofpollutantsintoapubliclyownedtreatmentworksfromtheformingofnonferrousmetals(includingnonferrousmetalalloys),exceptberyllium,copper,andaluminumandtheiralloys.Aluminumalloysaredefinedasanyalloyinwhichaluminumisthemajorconstituentinpercentbyweight.Copp
4、eralloysaredefinedasanyalloyinwhichcopperisthemajorconstituentinpercentbyweightexceptwhencopperisalloyedwithpreciousmetals.Anycopper-preciousmetalalloycontaining30percentorgreaterpreciousmetalisconsideredapreciousmetalalloyforthepurposesofthispart.Berylliumalloysa
5、reanyalloyinwhichberylliumispresentat0.1percentorgreater.Thispartappliesto:(1)Formingoperations,includingrolling(bothhotandcold),extruding,forging,drawing,swaging,cladding,andtubereducing,and(2)Ancillaryoperationsperformedasanintegralpartoftheformingofthesemetals,
6、includingcastingforsubsequentforming,heattreatment,surfacetreatment,alkalinecleaning,solventdegreasing,producttesting,surfacecoating,sawing,grinding,tumbling,burnishing,andwetairpollutioncontrol.(b)ThispartalsoappliestodischargesofpollutantstowatersoftheUnitedStat
7、esandintroductionofpollutantsintoapubliclyownedtreatmentworksfrommechanicalmetalpowderproductionoperations,formingofpartsfrommetalpowders,andassociatedancillaryoperations(listedinparagraph(a)(2)ofthissection)of:(1)Iron,copper,andaluminum,andtheiralloys;and(2)Theno
