3、isanewphenomenonthatissurelygoingtohaveanenormousimpactandsignificantlychangethewaybothindividualsandcompaniesshop,managetheirbusinessactivitiesanddistributetheirproducts.ThenumberofhouseholdsinEuropeconnectedtotheInternetisexpectedtotriple,to50million,by

4、theyear2004butusagewillnotexpanduniformly.PersistentforecastsofexplosiveincreasesinsalesofgoodsviatheInternethavesofarbeenwrong.InSweden,TheSwedishResearchInstituteofTrade(HUI),recentlyassessedretailsalesviatheInternettobeSEK600million,whichcorrespondstoa

5、trifling0.2%oftotalretailturnover,(Karp,1999).IncreasedaccesstoInternetservicesmustbeaccommodatedbyimprovementsinflowstructures.TheincreasedaccesstoandoffersofinformationcreatedbytheInternetmustconsequentlybeaccompaniedbyadifferentdistributionstructure,on
