4、oronavirusoflowpathogenicityandahighlyvirulentfeline23infectiousperitonitisvirus.IthasbeensuspectedthatFCoValtersitsbiotypevia24mutationsintheviralgenome.TheSand3cgenesofFCoVhavebeenconsideredthe25candidatesforviralpathogenicityconversion.Inthepresentstudy,FCoVswere26analyzedforthefrequencyandloca
5、tionofmutationsintheSand3cgenesfromfaecal27samplesofcatsinananimalshelterandthefaeces,effusions,andtissuesofcatsthat28werereferredtoveterinaryhospitals.Ourresultsindicatedthatapproximately95%29FCoVsinfaecesdidnotcarrymutationsinthetwogenes.However,80%FCoVsin30effusionsamplesexhibitedmutationsinthe
