3、ydrodynamics(SPH),aLagrangian,meshfreeandparticlemethod,hasbeendevelopedrapidlyandhasalreadybeenappliedsuccessfullyinbio-andnano・engineering,environmentalengineering,nationaldefeusescienceandtechnologyandsoon.Ithasgreatadvantagesindealingwithproblemswithlarge
4、deformation,deformableboundary,freesurfaces,movementinterfaces,andsoon.SPHhasspecialadvantagesoverconventionalgrid-basednumericalmethodsindealingwithcomplexgrid,adaptivegridandmulti-scaleproblems.Thispaperpresentedacomprehensivedescriptionofthebasicequationsa
5、ndprinciplesofSPHanditsrealizationontheNavier-Stokesequation.Innumericalaspects,thispaperdiscussesre-initializationapproachtoimprovedensityestimation,laminarviscosityandsub-particle-scale(SPS)model,artificialviscosity,manualcompression,boundarytreatment,varia
6、blesmoothinglengthandnearestneighborparticlesearchmethod,etc.AsurfacetensionmodelisalsoaddedintotheSPHprogram.ThispaperfocusesontheapplicationofSPHinfreesurfaceflowsinhydrodynamic.includingthedambreakingproblemanddropletsplashing.Differentnumericalschemesare,
7、comparativelystudiedwithsomerevealingresults.Fourseenariosweremodeledwhichinclude1)dambreakingwithsolidobstacles,2)dambreakingwithoutsolidobstacles,3)dropletsplashingonasolidwall,and4)dropletsplashingontobulkliquid・Thedifferencesofthenumericalresultsduetodiff
8、erentmodificationtermsareanalyzed.Forthedambreakingproblem,itisshownthateachsimulationsetupadoptedinthispapercanwellcapturetheflowphysicsindambreaking,especiallyintheinteractionbetweenwat
