3、gebeamopticscodeMICHELLE.Itisshownthatasolenoidalofsolenoidalfocusingovertheperiodicpermanentmagnetmagneticfieldcanbeaneffectivetransportmechanismforsheetelectronbeams,providedthebeamtunnelismatchedtothebeam(PPM)configurationsisthatasubstantiallyhigherfield(and,shape,andviceversa.Theadvantageofsolenoi
4、dalmagneticfieldhence,strongerfocusing)canbeachieved.Thus,highercurrenttransportrelativetoperiodicmagnetictransportresidesinthedensitiescanbetransportedatlowerbeamvoltages,leadingfeasibilityoftransportinghighercurrentdensitybeamsduetothedirectlytoashorterinteractionlength,higherpower,andhigherhigher
5、averagefieldstrengthachievableinpracticeandthelowerefficiencyforagivenvoltage.Thisprovidesthekeyimpetussusceptibilitytofielderrorsfrommechanicalmisalignments.Inaddition,asolenoidallytransportedelectronbeamisnotsuscep-fortheworkpresentedinthispaper,inwhichthefeasibilitytibletovoltagecutoffasinaperiodic
