2、,2012摘要奈达的功能对等理论注重读者反映,以最贴近、最自然的对等语再现原文信息,使译文读者能够达到与原文读者一样的理解和欣赏原文的程度。科普文是讲述科学技术知识,传播科学技术信息,普及科学技术教育的说明性文章,通常具备客观性、科学性、艺术性的特点。科普文英译汉过程中词汇意义的选定直接影响译文的质量。因此,如何选定正确的词义使译文达到贴近自然的对等是科普文翻译研究的一个重要课题。本文以科普文翻译实践为素材,结合奈达的功能对等理论对科普文英译汉词义的选定展开讨论。文章首先概述奈达功能对等理论的起源、发展及主要内容,强调贴近与自然的翻译原则,然后分析科普文与科技文两种不同文体,梳
3、理其特点后进行比较,从而概括出科普文和科技文在目的、语言风格及语篇结构三方面的差别。在此基础上,文章进一步阐述科普文词汇的特点及分类,并以功能对等为视角,结合大量实例,从上下文重点探讨科普文英译汉过程中词义的选定。文章最后归纳科普文英译汉词义的选定方法并提出了这一课题进一步的研究方向。关键词:功能对等;科普文;词义AbstractNida’SFunctionalEquivalenceTheory,emphasizingthereaders’reflection,makesthereadersofthetargetlanguagerespondsubstantiallythesa
