2、yfocusonthetopicfrommacroscopicvieworjustdependonpersonalopinions.ThisstudypaysattentiontothealignmentbetweentasksandNewEnglishCurriculumStandards(NECS).ThreeseniorhighEnglishtextbooksareselectedforthisstudy.TheyareTheNewSeniorEnglishforChina(NSEC)publishedbyPeople’sEducationPress,SeniorEngl
3、ishBook(SEB)publishedbyForeignLanguageTeachingandResearchPress,andSeniorHighEnglish(SHE)publishedbyBeijingNormalUniversityPress.ThethreetextbooksareusedinChinawidely.Dataforthisstudyaretasksinthethreeworkbooks.Thetasksincludelistening,speaking,readingandwritingtasksusedforanalyzingthealignme
4、ntbetweentasksandNECS.ThisstudyisbasedonWebb’smodeltoassessthealignmentfromtheperspectivesofcategoricalconcurrence,depthofknowledgeconsistency,rangeofknowledgecorrespondence,andbalanceofrepresentation.Bothqualitativeandquantitativemethodsareusedfordataanalysis.Dataanalysisshowsthatthethreeed
5、itionsmeettherequirementsofNECSbasically.NSECandSEBarebetteralignedwithNECSthanSHEinlistening,speaking,readingandwritingtasks.SHEisfarawayfromtherequirementsofNECSinlisteningandspeakingtasksinthecategoricalconcurrence,rangeofknowledge,depthofknowledgeconsistency,andbalanceofrepresentation.It
6、doesnothavelisteningandspeakingtasksintheworkbook.Andthethreetextbooksaredifferentintasktypesandquantity,too.SEBhasmoretasksthantheothertwoeditions.ThenumberoftasksinSHEislowerthanthatofothers.Intermsoftasktypes,NSECandSEBhavefourkindsoftasks,namely,listening,speaking,readingandwriting.Howev

SHEonlyhasreadingandwritingtasks.Onthebasisoftheabovefindings,itissuggestedthatthecompilersoftextbooksshould
developtextbooksonthebasisofNewEnglishCurriculumStandards.Besides,teachersshould
designandselecttaskscarefullyandhelpstudentscompleteth
