4、ssfocusedonserviceperformance.”Despitesomeotherresearchers’findingsj,ourresearchshowsthatitisextremelydifficulttoisolatethefinancialimpactofPMSfromotherconcurrentmanagementinitiatives.OuranalysisoftheeffectofPMSonEDFEnergy’sprofitabilitydidnotshowanyclearpatternsofar.ThelogicmightsuggestthatEDFEne

5、rgyshouldhaveimproveditsprofitabilitybyenhancingproductivity,customers’satisfactionandcorporatereputationasaresultoftheuseofPMS;however,thehard(financial)evidencedoesnotconvincinglysupportthispropositionyet.However,thevastmajorityofintervieweesbelievepositivefinancialeffectswillcomethroughwithinth

6、enextthreetofouryears.EarlydatashowsthatPMShashadsomebenefitsonstakeholderrelationships.Inparticular,citycouncilsandcontractorsaremoreresponsiveabouttheexpectationsofdifferentpartiesinrelationtoEDFEnergycontracts;andperformancecommunicationisconsideredtobemoreeffective.Forexample,amanagerexplained
