4、ebeenobserved.Inordertoaugmentthewaterresourceofthesystem,thefeasibilityPerformanceevaluationofintroducingsecondarystoragereservoirineachoutletcommandwasconceptualizedandfieldtested.SecondarystoragereservoirKeepinginviewthearearequiredforprovidingsecondaryreservoirs,theexisting

5、waterbodiesintheMinorirrigationprojectcommandofthestudysystemweresurveyed.TheutilityandfunctioningofthesecondaryreservoirwasMainreservoirfielddemonstrated.UtilizationoftheharvestedwaterinthesecondaryreservoirforirrigatingdryseasonCroppingpatterncropinadditiontotheirrigationwate

6、rfromthemainreservoirhaveresultedinincreasingtheyieldofsunflower,tomato,brinjalandgroundnutby14.29,14.95,16.95and20%,respectively.Amongthecrop-pingpatternsconsidered,rice–tomatocroppingpatternresultedinhighestnetreturn(Rs.29,457perha)followedbyrice–brinjalcroppingpattern(Rs.22,
