2、hepurposeofthisstudywastoestimatetheprevalenceof‘metabolicallyobese,butnormal-weight’(MONW)and‘metabolicallyhealthy,butobese’(MHO)phenotypesinKoreanadultsandidentifythecharacteristicsandhealthbehaviorsrelatedtobothphenotypes.Ofthe5267participants(2227men,3040women)fromthe3rdKo-reanNati
3、onalHealthandNutritionExaminationSurvey,theMONWphenotype(8.7%oftotalsubjects,12.7%ofnormal-weightsubjects)wasdefinedasindividualsofnormalweight(BMI<25)withthemetabolicsyn-drome(MS),andtheMHOphenotype(15.2%oftotalsubjects,47.9%ofobesesubject)wasdefinedasobeseindividuals(BMI≥25)withoutth
4、eMS.TheoddsratioforMONWphenotypewassignificantlyhigherforthoseatolderage,thosewithlowereducation,thosewhohadmoderatealcoholconsumption,andtimespentpartici-patinginmoderate-intensityexercise.TheoddsratioforMHOphenotypewassignificantlylowerforthoseatolderage,men,thosewithlowereducation,a
