2、ptimization.Incentiveswhichensurethatallpartiesbenefitfromcoordina-tioncanbesetthroughcontractscontainingparametersoftransferpayments.FromresearchonSCcoordinationinmanydecisionfieldsweknowthatasimplewhole-saleprice(WP)contractwillnotcoordinateduetotheso-calleddou
3、blemarginal-izationeffect(see[1]).However,consideringaSCexposedtoyieldrandomnessatthesupplierside,itcanbeshownthatalsofortheWPcontractcoordinationprop-ertymightbegivendependingonthespecificSCenvironment.Thisaspectwillbeanalyzedindetail.1IntroductionUncertaintyin
4、SCscanoccurinvariousforms,e.g.informofdemandandsupplyuncertainties.Randomsupplycanexistduetodifferentreasonssuchasproductionprocessrisksorimperfectinputmaterial.Consequently,productionyieldisuncer-tain.Whilerandomdemandcanbefoundinalmostallindustries,supplyunce
5、rtaintyoccursmorefrequentlyinagricultural,chemicalorsemiconductorproductionthaninotherindustries.Thecontextoforderingunderrandomsupplyhasbeenstudiedextensively(see[8])whilestochasticproductionyieldintheSCcoordinationcon-texthasnotreceivedmuchattentionsofar.Inth
6、iscase,appropriatecontractshavetoaccountforthiskindofrandomness.Severalcontracttypeshavebeenrecommendedinliteraturewhichensurecoordination(see[2],[3]).ThesimpleWPcontract,how-ever,isusuallyknowntonotcoordinateduetodoublemarginalization.Thisarticle,though,showst
