3、case,theproportionoflandallocatedtotransportationisadecreasing,concavefunctionofdistancefromthecenterofthecity.Wethenanalyzethecompetitiverentprofilegen-eratedbyanyland-usepattern,ontheassumptionsthattherearenocongestiontollsforroaduse,andthatcommoditiesaresoldatuniformdeliveredpric

4、ewithsellersabsorbingtransportcost.Ontheseassumptions,weshowthatthemarketvalueoflandmaybeaverypoorguidetoland-usedecisions,andwouldleadtooverallocationoflandtotransportation,especiallynearthecenter.Ourmodelisone-dimensionalbecausethatisthebestwecandonow.Wehopeitwillleadontomorereali
