3、moth(DBM),Plutellaxylostella(L.)isconsideredasthemostdestructivepestofBrassicaceaecropsworld-wide.Itsmigratorycapacitiesanddevelopmentofinsecticideresistanceinmanypopulationsleadstomoredifficultiesforpopulationmanage-ment.Tocontrolmovementofpopulationsandapparitionsofresistancecarriedbyresistantm
4、igrantindividuals,populationsmustbeidentifiedusinggeneticmarkers.Here,sevendifferentISSRmarkershavebeentestedasatoolforpopulationdiscriminationandgeneticvariationsamong19DBMpopulationsfromCanada,USA,Brazil,MartiniqueIsland,France,Romania,Austria,Uzbekistan,Egypt,Benin,SouthAfrica,Re´unionIsland,H
5、ongKong,Laos,JapanandfourlocalitiesinAustraliawereassessed.Twoclassificationmethodsweretestedandcompared:acommonmethodofgeneticdistanceanalysesandanovelmethodbasedonanadvancedstatisticalmethodoftheArtificialNeuralNetworks’family,theSelf-OrganizingMap(SOM).The188lociselectedrevealedaveryhighvariab
6、ilitybetweenpopulationswithatotalpolymorphismof100%andaglobalcoefficientofgenedifferentiationestimatedbytheNei’sindex(Gst)of0.238.Nevertheless,thelargestpartofvariabilitywasexpressedamongindividualswithinpopulations(AMOVA:73.71%andmeanpolymorphismof94%withinpopulations).Geneticdifferentiationamongt
