3、ature60yearsago,Festinger’scognitivedisso-nancetheory(CDT)hasbeenfrequentlyappliedtothemanagementliteraturetoexplainandpredictthemotivationalnatureofdissonanceinproducingattitudeandbehaviorchangeinmanagerialdecisionmakingandthebroaderorganizationalcontext.Yetmanyofthepopularcon

4、structsthatstemfromCDThavesincelosttouchwithmorerecentdevelopmentsinthefieldoforigin.Inthispaper,weprovideareviewofthekeyconstructsandpredictionsassociatedwithCDTfromFestinger’searlyworktothelatestdevelopments.WethenreviewkeymanagementresearchthathasincorporatedCDT.Drawingfromt

5、helatestrefinementstoCDT,wedescribehowfuturemanagementstudiescouldbenefitbyintegratingtheserefinementsintotheirtheoreticalframeworks,ratherthansimplyrelyingonFestinger’sseminalworkonthe60thanniversaryofitspublication(1957).Keywords:cognitivedissonance;management;cognition;manag
