3、etPindar(circa518-438BC)frequentlyextolledathleteswhoparticipatedinathleticgamesatOlympus,Delphi,theIsthmusofCorinth,andNemea.Bacchylides,acontemporaryofPindar,alsowroteodespraisingathletes. TheRomanpoetsHorace(65-8BC)andCatullus(84-54BC)wroteodesbasedontheGreekmodel,buttheirode
