3、nningsystemforblockassemblyinshipbuilding.Basedontheinformationaboutparts,topologicalrelationshipbetweenpartsandassemblysequencesforblock,thedevelopedsystemperformsthedeterminationofweldingpostures,weldingmethods,weldingequipmentandweldingmaterials.Thedevelopedsystemimplementedsuccessful

5、cessplanningforcuttingandbending,assembly,out-fitting,anderection.Amongtheseprocessplanningactivities,theassemblyprocessplanningisbyfarthemostimportant,sincetheconstructionprocessforahullblockcomprisesapproximately48~50%ofthetotalshipbuildingprocess[1,2].Themainoperationforblockassemblyi
6、stheweldingoperation.Theweldingoperationplanningproblemsinblockassemblyareverydifficulttosolvebecauseallblocksaredifferentinsize,type,andconstitutingsub-assembliesthatdependonthetypesofships.Also,sincethisactivityhastraditionallybeenexperienced-based,weldingoperationplanninginshipbuildin
