3、88arousedreactioninIreland,SwiftmovedtoEnglandtothehouseholdofSirWilliamTempleandworkedasaprivatesecretaryofhimuntil1699SirWilliamTemplepassedaway.EarlylifeIn1699,SwiftreturnedtoIrelandinDublinandbecameapriestnearbyDublin,buthehadtooftengotoLondonbecauseofthechurchaffairs,t
4、heninvolvedinthestrugglebetweenWhigsandtheTories.ThoughthighlybytheToriesleaders,heservedaseditorfortheirnewspaperInvestigation.EarlylifeLateryearsSwiftwasverylonely,onlycontactedwithafewfriendsduringhislateryears.Hedonatedonethirdofhissavingsforcharity,anotheronethirdofinc
5、omeforthementallydisabled,bulidingaSaintPatrickhospital.Swiftwastorturedbyillness,however,hestillinsistedonwriting(untildeath),manypeopleeventhoughthehadcompletelycrazy.In1714Toriesrecededintothebackground,hereturnedtoDublin,Ireland,asadeaninStPatrick'schurch,andbegantostud
6、ythecurrentsituationofIreland.ActivelysupportinganddevotingintothestruggleforIrelandindependenceandfreedombutallhisdreamswereshattered.EarlylifeLateryearsOnOctober19,1745,Swiftdiedattheageof78,buriedinStPatrick'sCathedral.JonathanSwiftwasanAnglo-Irishsatirist,essayist,polit
