3、alysisofthecuttingprocessintheBTA(BoringTrepanningAssociation)deepholedrilling.Theprocessisusedwhenthemachiningwithaconventionaltoolisnotpossible.Poortrainingand/orpoorchipsevacuationoftencauseatemperatureriseandexcessivewearwhichaffectthedimensionalstabilityofmachine
4、dparts.Theprocessisrelativelynotexploredenough,becauseitisdifficulttoinstrumentexperimentaltests(measurementofcuttingforcesandtemperatureateachinsert…).ThemechanicalphenomenaarelocalizedattheendoftheBTAdrillingheadandconfinedinazoneinaccessibletotheobservation.Hence,a
5、studyofthisprocesshasbeenproposed.Theevaluationofthechipsmorphologyhasbeenperformed.Indeed,itisagoodindicatorofthestabilityofthecuttingprocessanditcanthereforebeaserioushelpintheselectionofoptimalcuttingparameters.Adequateparametersareproposedtohighlighttheimpactofcut
6、tingconditionsonthecuttingprocess.Macroandmicroscopicobservationsofgeneratedchipsunderseveralcuttingconditionsareperformed.Fragmentationandsegmentationofchipsaresomeexamplesofanalyzedphenomena.Inthissense,experimentaltestshavebeenconducted.Thechipshavebeensortedaccord
