3、teeinthedepartmentofComputerSciencedetermineswhichmoduleswillbeavailabletoCS4studentsinth4followingyear.(ACS4studentisanystudentwhoistakinganyfourth-yearmoduleitthecomputersciencedepartment,whetherornotthestudentisregisteredforacomputesciencedegree.)Att
4、heendofeachacademicyear,theHeadofDepartmentallocatesdutiestomembersofteachingstaffandothers;inparticular,onepersonisassignedtolectureeachofthemodule,whicharesupposedtobeavailableinthefollowingyear.(We'llcallthesepeoplelecturersforsimplicity.)CurrentSitu
5、ationEachlecturerupdatesthecoursehandbookentryforhisorhermodule.TheCS4coordinatorupdatesotherpartsofeachhandbook,andchecksthemoduleentriesproducedbythelecturers.ModuleentriesarewrittenintheLATEXformattinglanguage.SomebodyintheUndergraduateTeachingOffice
6、(fromnowonwe'llcallanysuchperson'theUTO')producesthepapervisionofeachhandbook;theCS4CoordinatorCurrentSituationproducestheHTMLversionsbyrunningtheconversionapplicationlatex2htmlontheLATEXsource.TheCS3coordinatorissupposedtogivealistofthestudentsentering
7、CS4fromCS3bothtotheCS4coordinator,andtotheUTO.TheCS4coordinatortellstheUTOaboutanystudentsenteringCS4otherthanfromCS3,forexamplenon-graduatingstudents.TheUTOkeepsthemasterlistofallCS4students,andupdatesthemailinglistofstudentstakingCS4modules,whichiskno
