3、stractBasedontheanalysesoffundamentalmeteorologicalandhydrogeologicalconditionsatthesiteofatunnelinthecoldregions,acombinedconvection-conductionmodelforairflowinthetunnelandtemperaturefieldinthesurroundinghasbeenconstructed.Usingthemodel,theairtemperaturedis
4、tributionintheXiluoqiNo.2Tunnelhasbeensimulatednumerically.Thesimulatedresultsareinagreementwiththedataobserved.Then,basedontheinsituconditionsofsirtemperature,atmosphericpressure,windforce,hydrogeologyandengineeringgeology,theair-temperaturerelationshipbetw
5、eenthetemperatureonthesurfaceofthetunnelwallandtheairtemperatureattheentryandexitofthetunnelhasbeenobtained,andthefreeze-thawconditionsattheDabanshanTunnelwhichisnowunderconstructionispredicted.Keywords:tunnelincoldregions,convectiveheatexchangeandconduction
6、,freeze-thaw.AnumberofhighwayandrailwaytunnelshavebeenconstructedinthepermafrostregionsandtheirneighboringareasinChina.Sincethehydrologicalandthermalconditionschangedafteratunnelwasexcavated，thesurroundingwallrockmaterialsoftenfroze,thefrostheavingcauseddama
7、getothelinerlayersandseepingwaterfrozeintoicediamonds，whichseriouslyinterferedwiththecommunicationandtransportation.SimilarproblemsofthefreezingdamageinthetunnelsalsoappearedinothercountrieslikeRussia,NorwayandJapan.Henceitisurgenttopredictthefreeze-thawcond
