5、ansformationinbacteriaStreptococcuspneumoniaehastwoforms,Slimycolonies(virulentSstrain)formsmucouscapsules,itkillsmice.But,heat-killedstraindoesnotkillmice.Roughcolonies(non-virulentRstrain)lackscapsules,itdoesnotkillmice.Mixedheat-killedS-strainwithliveR-strain,resultingo

6、rganismskilledmice.Conclusion:somechemicalincellsofSstrainisstableinheattreatment,retainsgeneticinformation,isabletotransmitthatinformationtoR-strainbacteria,convertthemtoS.3).In1944,Avery,MacLeod,andMcCartyfoundthatDNApreparedfromavirulentstrainofpneumococcuscouldtransfor
