3、pecialistsandlaypeoplealiketodescribeadiseaseprovokedbyexcessiveattachmenttoadistanthomeland,aconditionatfirstthoughttobecommonparticularlyamongnativesofmountainousregions.Bytheendoftheeighteenthcentury,thenotionwasexpandedtoincludepathologicalattachmenttoanyfarawaypl
4、aceand,later,todistanttimesandpersons.ThefactthatHoferconsideredpreviouslyexistingtermstobeinadequateandfelttheneedtocreateanentirelynewword,awordthat,inturn,gainedincreasingcurrencyinEurope,suggeststhatsomethingnew—anewwayoffeelingoranewwayofthinkingaboutanoldfeeling
