2、populationsin2013.Sincethen,thisvirushasbeendetectedinatleast31statesintheUSAandhascausedsigniÞcanteconomiclosstotheswineindus-try.ActivesurveillanceandcharacterizationofPEDVareessentialformonitoringthevirus.ObtainingcomprehensiveinformationaboutthePEDVgenomecanimproveourunderstandingofthee
3、volutionofPEDVviruses,andtheemergenceofnewstrains,andcanenhancevaccinedesigns.Inthischapter,bothatargetedampliÞcationmethodandarandom-primingmethodaredescribedtoamplifythecompletegenomeofPEDVforsequencingusingtheMiSeqplatform.Overall,thisprotocolprovidesausefultwo-prongedapproachtocompletew
