3、pherR.HelpsStuartG.Siddell,BScPhDAbstract:Felinecoronavirus(FCoV)infectionsareendemicamongstcatsworldwide.Themajorityofinfectionsareasymptomatic,orresultonlyinmildentericdisease.However,approximately5%ofcasesdevelopfelineinfectiousperitonitis(FIP),asystemicdiseasethatisafrequentcauseofdeathinyoung

4、cats.Inthisstudy,wereportthecompletecodinggenomesequencesofsixFCoVs;threefromfecalsamplesfromhealthycatsandthreefromtissuelesionsamplesfromcatswithconfirmedFIP.Thesixsampleswereobtainedoveraperiodofeightweeksatasingle-sitecatrescueandrehomingcenterintheUK.Wefoundaminoaciddifferencesarelocatedat44p

5、ositionsacrossanalignmentofthesixvirustranslatomesand,at21ofthesepositions,thedifferencesfullyorpartiallydiscriminatebetweenthegenomesderivedfromthefecalsamplesandthegenomesderivedfromtissuelesionsamples.Inthisstudy,twoaminoaciddifferencesfullydiscriminatethetwoclassesofgenomes;thesearebothlocated
