4、nepopulationsandtestedforviralantibodiesusingtwoimmunoenzymaticmethods.Seraspecificitywasconfirmedusingimmunoblotanalysis.TheagreementbetweenbothELISAtestsproducedadequateresults(kappavalue=0.64).IntroductionCaninecoronavirus(CCV)hasbeenidentifiedasoneofthecausalagentsofviralenter
5、itidesinmembersoftheCanidaeandhasaworldwidedistribution.CCVinfectionisahighlycontagiousdiseaseaffectingmainlyyoungpupsinclosedpopulations(HELFER-BAKERetal.,1980;RIMMELZWAANetal.,1991).TheCCVepidemiologicalsituationinSpainhasnotyetbeenreportedon,soviruscharacterizationandcomparison
6、withanAmericanreferencestrainwasoneofthemainobjectivesofthisstudy.Inthisway,anexperimentalELISAwasevaluatedbycomparingitbothwithanotherimmunoenzymaticmethodandwithimmunoblotanalysis.Inthisreport,aserologicsurveyhasbeenconductedtodeterminetheincidenceofexposuretoCCVinopenandclosedc
