3、m(CNS)tissueintomiceorculturedmousecells,itisimportanttodeterminetheirrela-tionshipstoothermurineandhumancoronavirusisolates.OurresultsindicatethatSDandSKsharealmostcompletenucleotidehomology(approximately90%)withMHV-A59andgeneratesubgenomicRNAsofthesamesizesasMHV-A59.Thehumancoronavir
4、us(HCV)strainstestedshowlesshomologywithMHV-A59.TheimmunologicallyunrelatedHCV-229EshowsnonucleotidehomologywithMHV-A59.Theimmunologicallycross-reactiveHCV-OC43showsnucleotidehomologywithMHV-A59byblothybridizationbutnotwhenhybridizedinsolutionandassayedbyS1nucleasedigestion.INTRODUCTIO
5、NTheyareestimatedtoberesponsiblefor15%ofcommoncolds(McIntosh,1974).CoronaviruseshavebeenassociatedwithTherearenoreportsthusfarofinvolve-acuteandchronicneurologicaldiseasesinmentofhumancoronaviruseswithper-manyspeciesofanimals(McIntosh,1974).sistentneurologicaldisease.SomestrainsInfecti
