4、—Calveswerestudiedfrombeforeship-pingto35daysafterarrivalatthefeedlot.Nasalswabspecimens,fecalsamples,andserumsampleswerecausesmildorsevererespiratoryinfectionsandsevereobtainedbeforeshipping,atarrival,andperiodicallylowerintestinalinfectionswithenteritis.2Thisvi
5、rusthereafter.BovinecoronavirusantigenandantibodiescausesdiarrheaincalvesandhasbeenassociatedwithweredetectedbyuseofanELISA.3winterdysenteryincows.Results—NMcalveshadahighgeometricmeantiterInfectionbyBCVappearstobewidespreadincat-forBCVantibodyatarrival(GMT,1,928
6、);only2%tlewhentheyenterfeedlotsintheUnitedStates,withshedBCVinnasalsecretionsand1%infeces.Incon-prevalenceestimatesofBCVsheddinginfecesornasaltrast,ARcalveshadlowantibodytitersagainstBCVatarrival(GMT,102)and64%shedBCVinnasalsecretionsofcalvesarrivingatafeedlotas
7、highas53%secretionsand65%infeces.DetectionofBCVinasdetectedbyanELISA,96%asdetectedbyreversenasalsecretionsprecededdetectioninfecesbeforetranscriptase-PCR,and100%asdetectedbyserologicshippingARcalves,butatarrival,73%ofARcalves4-8testing.Feedlotcalvesbecomenaturall
