1、Inpharma1434-24Apr20041CoronavirusvaccineprotectsagainstSARSAnexperimentalDNAvaccineinducesSARS*coronavirusneutralisationandprotectiveimmunisationinmice,reportresearchersfromtheUS.TheypreparedtwosetsofcDNAsencodingthespike(S)glycoproteinoftheSARScoronavirus(CoV);modifiedcodonswereusedtooptimi

2、seexpressionandtominimisetheriskoftheDNAcombiningwiththegeneticmaterialofothercoronavirusstrains.ThetwoversionsofthevaccinedifferedinhowmuchgeneticmaterialwasremovedfromtheoriginalpieceofSARS-CoVDNA.Atweeks0,3and6,BALB/cmicewereimmunisedbyIMinjectionwiththeindicatedplasmid(n=5pergroup)orwithe

3、mptyplasmidvector(controls).Thirtydaysafterthefinalboost,allmicewere4TCIDchallengedintranasallywith1050unitsofSARS-CoV(Urbanistrain),andviralreplicationintherespiratorytractwasassessedtwodayslater.Comparedwithinjectionofvectoralone,bothvaccineseffectivelyreducedviralreplicationinthelungs(them
