2、rchonSARS-associatedcoronavirus(SARS-CoV)hasnotstoppedsinceitsdiscovery,butthepathogenesisofSARSisstillunclear.Toexplorethepossiblemolecularmechanismsofthein-vasionandvirulenceofSARS-CoV,weinvestigatedthestructuralbasisoftheviralproteinsusingcomputationalbiology.Forty-fivemotifsrelati

3、ngtosuperantigens,toxinsandotherbioactivemol-eculesweredetectedintheproteinsofSARS-CoV.Theresultsshowedthatthedistributionofthemotifsvariedindifferentproteins.Enzyme-likemotifswerelocatedintheRprotein,whileICAM-1–likeandtoxin-likemoleculeswerelocatedinthespike,envelop,nucleocapsid,PUP

4、1,PUP2andPUP4proteins.ComparisonofSARS-CoVwithotherviruses(OC43,PEDV,HRSV,HHerpVandHAdenoV)showedthateachgroupofmotifswasdifferentforeachtypeofvirus.DatasuggestthattheproteinsofSARS-CoVwithtoxicmotifsmightplaycrucialrolesintargetinghostcellsandin-terferingwiththeimmunesystem.Thisstudy

5、providesnewinformationfordrugandvaccinede-sign,aswellastherapeuticstrategiesagainstSARS.INTRODUCTIONinvestigation,thepathologicalchangeswerecharacter-izedbymassiveinfiltrationandmarkedalveolaredemaHESEVEREACUTERESPIRATORYSYNDROME(SARS),withhemorrhageandhyalinemembraneformation,evenTwi

6、thhighratesofmorbidityandmortality,hasaf-atrophyoflymphandwidelyangitis,butfewinflamma-fectedthousandsofpeopleandkilledhundredsofthemtorycellswereobserved.Furthermore,theserologicalev-sinceNovemberof2002.TheSARS-associatedcoron-idenceshowedanincreasedlevelofIgGatthesecondavirus(SARS-C

7、oV)wasfirstidentifiedasthepathogenweekafteronsetofthesymptoms(12,15).ButtheresultsofthisdiseaseinApril2003(3,6).offlowcytometrydemonstratedbothCD4andCD8ThemostcommonsymptomsofthediseasewerefeverTcellssignificantlydecreasedandwouldrecoverassoon(38.5°C),drycough,myalgia,shortbreath,a
