4、originalmeaning,butitsinfluenceonNewEnglandandtheUnitedStateshasalonghistory,andformsaspecialkindofcultureintheUnitedStates,thatisnotonlyassociatedwithindividualismoftheAmericancharacter,butalsoconnectedtothedevelopmentofAmericanliteratureandcharacteristics.PuritanismisthePuritan
5、thoughtandtheirfaithdoctrine.ThePuritanswasreformistoftheAnglicaninthemiddleofthe16thcentury.Theyadvocatedtherepublicanformofgovernment,insistsontheseparationofchurchandstate,becausetheyrepresentedtheinterestsofmediumandsmallbourgeoispersecutedbythegovernment.Sotheyhadtoemigratio
