3、urishingpaintingartinWuareahelpedthefurtherdevelopmentofSuzhouembroidery.Embroidersreproducedthepaintingsusingneedles.Theseworksweresovividandelegantastobecalled"paintingsbyneedle"or"unmatchableevenbythenature."DuringtheQingDynasty,Suzhouembroideryreachedit
4、speak.PortraitoftheItalianQueenmadebyShenYunzhi,amasterinSuzhouembroidery,wassenttoItalyasanationalgiftandinvokedasensationthere.In1915,Shen'sPortraitofJesuswonthefirstprizeatthe"Panama-PacificExhibition"holdinUSandwaspricedatamarkedhighUS$13,000.Anotherpor
5、traitofanAmericanactressalsoreceivedgreatacclaimwhenbeingexhibitedintheUS.AfterP.R.Chinawasestablished,Suzhouembroiderywaspresentedastheformalgiftofinternationalexchangemorethan80timesandexhibitedinmorethan100countriesandregionsaltogether,whenmorethan100emb
6、roidersmastersgavetheperformancelive.Asakindofartworksmadebyhandcompletely,apieceofSuzhouembroideryneedsanembroider-maidseveralmonths,evenafewyearstofinish.Therebyasotherkindsofartworks,thefineworksofSuzhouembroideryareworthcollectingaswell.HistoryoftheSuzh
7、ouembroiderySuzhouembroiderywasoriginatedinWuxian,Suzhou,Jiangsuprovince.Theseareas,ocatedinthelowerreachofYangtseRiver,havebeenfamousfortheirhighqualitysilkproductionsforcenturies.So,it'satraditionalhabitforthewomenherebeinggoodatembroidering.TheSuperioren
