5、nalsuccess.Ofparticularimportanceisthelackofahereditaryaristocracy.BecausetitlesofnobilitywereforbiddenintheConstitution,noformalclasssystemdevelopedintheUnitedStates.IntheearlyyearsofAmericanhistory,manyimmigrantschosetoleaveolderEuropeansocietiesbecausetheybelievedthattheyhadabe
6、tterchancetosucceedinAmerica.TheyknewthatinAmericatheywouldnothavetoliveamongnoblefamilieswhopossessedgreatpowerandwealthinheritedandaccumulatedoverhundredsofyears.Thehopesanddreamsofmanyoftheseearlyimmigrantswerefulfilledintheirnewcountry.Thelowersocialclassintowhichmanywerebornd
