5、ycommoninimmunecompromisedpatients[1].Antibioticsareabletocontrolbacterialinfections,interferingwithmicrobialmetabolismandphysiologicalprocesses,suchasDNAreplicationandcellwallbiosynthesis.Althoughmultiplecompoundsareoftenused,casesofresistancetothemajorityofantibioticclassesusedinhos

6、pitalshavebeenreported.ThelastreportfromtheAmericanCentersforDiseaseControlestimatedthatovertwomillionillnessesand23,000deathswerecausedbydrug-resistantmicrobesintheUSAin2013.Thesenumbershaveencouragedhealthorganizationstoestablishstricterpoliciesforantibioticuseinordertocurtailtheeme
