5、emelycommoninimmunecompromisedpatients[1].Antibioticsareabletocontrolbacterialinfections,interferingwithmicrobialmetabolismandphysiologicalprocesses,suchasDNAreplicationandcellwallbiosynthesis.Althoughmultiplecompoundsareoftenused,casesofresistancetothemajorityofantibioticclassesused

6、inhospitalshavebeenreported.ThelastreportfromtheAmericanCentersforDiseaseControlestimatedthatovertwomillionillnessesand23,000deathswerecausedbydrug-resistantmicrobesintheUSAin2013.Thesenumbershaveencouragedhealthorganizationstoestablishstricterpoliciesforantibioticuseinordertocurtail
