4、rroleinthesocialistmodernizationdrive. Article2Tradeunionsaremassorganizationsoftheworkingclassformedbytheworkersandstaffmembersonavoluntarybasis. TheAll-ChinaFederationofTradeUnionsandallthetradeunionorganizationsunderitrepresenttheinterestsoftheworkersandstaffmembersan
5、dsafeguardthelegitimaterightsandinterestsoftheworkersandstaffmembersaccordingtolaw. Article3Allmanualandmentalworkersinenterprises,institutionsandgovernmentdepartmentswithintheterritoryofChinawhorelyonwagesorsalariesastheirmainsourceofincome,irrespectiveoftheirnationality
6、,race,sex,occupation,religiousbelieforeducationalbackgroundhavetherighttoorganizeorjointradeunionsaccordingtolaw.Noorganizationsorindividualsshallobstructorrestrictthem. Article4TradeunionsshallobserveandsafeguardtheConstitution,takeitasthefundamentalcriterionfortheiracti
7、vities,takeeconomicdevelopmentasthecentraltask,upholdthesocialistroad,thepeople'sdemocraticdictatorship,leadershipbytheCommunistPartyofChina,andMarxist-Leninism,MaoZedongThoughtandDengXiaopingTheory,persevereinreformandtheopenpolicy,andconducttheirworkindependentlyinaccord
