2、lesrelationship.Sexualitygenerallyisusedtoacombinationofconcepts,andbehaviors,includingthoseofgenderidentity,attitudes,experiences,activitiesandassociatedthoughtsandfeelings(Dennerstienetal.,2001).Individualsdeveloptheirownsenseofsexualidentityanddesireinthecontextoftheirethnicgroupandpreva
3、ilingsetofgenderroles.Forwomen,culturalconstructionsofsexualityleadtoanongoingtensionbetweenpleasureanddanger(Crawford&Unger,2004).Men,incontrastweresupposedtobealwaysexpertinthisbehavior(Hyde,1996).ConsistentwithliteraturewomeninIranalsotendtobemoresexuallyconservative.Itistraditionalstere
4、otypeinourculturethatagoodwomanisnotsupposedtotalkaboutsexualityinmaritallife,yetsexualityisviewedasahealthyandnormalpartoflife.Menandwomenwithacquisitionofgenderrolestereotypesasasetofsharedculturalbeliefsaboutmasculinityandfemininityalsoshapeschemataforsexualbehavior(Brannon,2002).Inorder
5、toexploremoreontheissueofsexualstereotypes,weconductedastudywiththeaimofcomparingthesexualbehaviorsbetweenmarriedcollegestudentsandtheirrelationshipwithgenderrolestereotypes.MethodsSample:Sixtymarriedcollegestudents(30femalesand30males)fromtwouniversities(Alzahra&Allamehuniversities)ofTehra
6、nwererandomlyselected.Theagerangeofthegroupwas19–42.Instruments:Datareportedherearebasedonthreeself-ratinginstruments.Briefdescriptionoftheseinstrumentsfollows:1.BemSexRoleInventory–BSRI-Persianform.BSRIconsists60adjectiveordescriptivephrases(Bem,1974).WeadoptedBSRItoIranianculture.Ithasade
