5、nsurethattheregion’syoungpeoplehavetherightskillsforthejobsbeingcreated.Todoso,itwillbenecessarytoorienteducationdirectlytoworkopportunities—full-orpart-timeorevenself-employment.Thereisevenlessfocusonhowtoencouragetheprivatesector(bothemployersandeducationproviders)toplayarole
6、complementarytothatofthegovernmentinaddressingtheregion’spressingneeds.AnewreportbasedonresearchbyMcKinsey,Educationforemployment:RealizingArabyouthpotential,highlightsthedramaticgapsineducationandemploymentacrosstheregionandprovidesaprivatesector–basedroadmapforclosingthem.The
7、reportwascommissionedbytheInternationalFinanceCorporationandtheIslamicDevelopmentBank.Webaseourfindingsonmorethan200interviewswithgovernmentofficials,employers,educationproviders,investors,andnonprofitorganizationsinninecountriesandonproprietarysurveysof1,500employersand1,500yo
