3、ldwideinlargeamountseveryyear.Withtheexceptionoflimited-usageareas,thesematerialsareregardedaswaste.Therefore,renewablelignocellulosicbiomassisgainingconsiderableattentionbecauseofitspotentialforuseintheproductionofbiofuelsandothervalue-addedproducts.Inthisstudy,theco-productionoftwovalu
4、e-addedproducts,xylanase(enzyme)andxylooligosaccharides(XO),wasinvestigatedbyutilizinglignocellulosicbiomassresidueswithinamulti-productbiorefineryframework.Box–Behnkendesign-basedresponsesurfacemethodologywasemployedtooptimizecultureparametersforxylanaseproductionfromathermophilicfungus,
5、Scytalidiumthermophilum,andtheenzymewasbiochemicallycharacterized.Optimizedmediaconditionsresultedinanapproximately2-foldincreaseinxylanaseactivitycomparedtotheinitialconditions.CrudeenzymesolutionwascapableofproducingXOfromthehemicellulosicfractionofvariousbiomassresidues.Thehighesthemi
6、celluloseextractionyieldwasachievedfromcorncob(37.71.5%),followedbywheatbran(26.60.8%)andcottonstalks(22.20.6%).Thehighestreducingendconcentrationwasobtainedfrom11sunflowerseedshell(4.890.02mgmL),followedbysunflowerstalks(4.410.03mgmL)and1corncob(3.490.09mgmL).Accordingly,corncoby
7、ieldedthehighestXOproduction(172.1mgXOpergrawbiomassresidue)withthemainproductsofxylose(X1)andxylobiose(X2).Intermsofthehemicellulosicfraction,beechwoodhadthemaximumXOyieldwith793mgXOperghemicellulose.SunflowerseedshellhydrolysisyieldedmainlyX1andxylotetrose(X4)withoutX2andxylotriose(X3).
