4、nthe16thcenturyafterhelearnedoftheformduringhistravelsinSpainandItaly.Wyattwrote32sonnetsintheformknownasthePetrarchansonnet.AfriendofWyatt,HenryHoward,EarlofSurrey(1517-1547)sharescreditforintroducingthesonnettoEnglish.Surrey'sworkdeviatessomewhatboththematicallyandstructurallyfr
