4、rm(6days)andalong-term(32days)experimentwithPOCISandChemcatchers.Passivesamplerswereplacedinachannelwithflowingriverwaterthatwasspikedwith22organicchemicalsincludingpharmaceuticals,pesticidesandbiocides;withlogKow(logarithmicoctanol−waterpartitioningcoefficient)valuesbetween−2.6and3.8.Samplerswerer

5、emovedatintervalsandmembranesandsorbentmaterialwereextractedandanalyzedwithLC-MS/MS.Uptakekineticsofthecompoundsfellbetweentwoextremes:(1)chargedchemicalsandchemicalsoflowhydrophobicitydidnotaccumulateinPESandrapidlytransferredtothesorbent(e.g.,diclofenac)and(2)morehydrophobicchemicalsaccumulate

6、dstronglyinthePESandappearedinthesorbentafteralag-phase(e.g.,diazinonanddiuron).Sorptionkineticsweremodeledwithathree-compartmentfirst-orderkineticmodeltodetermineuptakeandeliminationrateconstantsandpartitioningcoefficients.WaterPESpartitioningcoefficientsfittedwiththemodelcorrelatedwellwithexperiment

7、allydeterminedvaluesandlogKow.SamplingratesofChemcatcher(0.02−0.10L/d)andPOCIS(0.02−0.30L/d)showedsimilarpatternsandcorrelatedwell.Thusthesamplersareinterchangeableinpracticalapplications.Longerlag-phasesmayposeproblemswhenc
