2、dsafetyissues,andwastegenerated.1.2Thismethodhasbeenvalidatedforseveralmono-andpoly-cyclicaromatichydrocarbons(MAHsandPAHs)andcanbeappliedtoanycombinationofthesecompounds.1.3Thismethodalsomaybeusedtoextractselectedvolatileorganiccompounds(VOCs)orsemivolatileorg
3、aniccompounds(SVOCs)whichareslightlysolubleorinsolubleinwateratneutralpHoncetheirextractionperformancehasbeendemonstratedtobesatisfactoryusinganappropriateanalyticaltechnique.1.4Priortoemployingthismethod,analystsareadvisedtoconsultthebasemethodforeachtypeofpro
4、cedurethatmaybeemployedintheoverallanalysis(e.g.,Methods3500,3600,5000,and8000)foradditionalinformationonqualitycontrolprocedures,developmentofQCacceptancecriteria,calculations,andgeneralguidance.Analystsalsoshouldconsultthedisclaimerstatementatthefrontoftheman
5、ualandtheinformationinChapterTwoforguidanceontheintendedflexibilityinthechoiceofmethods,apparatus,materials,reagents,andsupplies,andontheresponsibilitiesoftheanalystfordemonstratingthatthetechniquesemployedareappropriatefortheanalytesofinterest,inthematrixofint
