3、aphicmethods,Iexplorehowyoung,singleruralChinesewomenwhomigratedtoBeijinginthe1990snegotiatesexualityindiasporicspace,withinthediscursiveandinstitutionalordersofstate,marketandfamily.Thoughmigrationdoesnotfundamentallyalterthesestructuresthatconstructinequali
4、tyaroundplace-basedidentity,genderandclass,itdoesenableruralwomentoshiftpositionwithinthemand,significantly,toimaginethatfurther,futurechangeispossible.Foregroundingmigrantwomen’sagencyinremakinggenderidentityfromso-calledrusticpeasantstomoderngirlsaswellasinc
