4、oseverelydisabledindividualsandbyinterestinfurtherextendinghumancontrolofexternalsystems,researchersfrommanyfieldsareengagedinthischallengingnewwork.BCIresearchanddevelopmenthavegrownexplosivelyoverthepasttwodecades.Effortshaverecentlybeguntoprovidelaboratory-validatedBCIsystemstoseverelydisa
5、bledindividualsforreal-worldapplications.Inthisreview,wediscussthecurrentstatusandfutureprospectsofBCItechnologyanditsclinicalapplications.WewilldefineBCI,reviewtheBCI-relevantsignalsfromthehumanbrain,anddescribethefunctionalcomponentsofBCIs.WewillalsoreviewcurrentclinicalapplicationsofBCItec
