3、rancesofcharacteristiccoherence.Thispaperexamineshowcausalityadiscoursearealsoimportantinestablishingacoherentimplicitinanutterancehelpstoorganizedynamicallydiscoursemodel,andevidenceexiststhatsubstantiatesthisconstructedmentalmodelsofdiscourse.Experimentsarepointofview(Givón&Gernsbacher,1

4、995).Subjectscanreportedsuggestingthatthelinguisticformofutterancesoftenidentifyacauseinasingleutterance.Forexample,incontributessignificantsemanticinformationaboutcausalitythesentenceRobinwrotetoSandy,Robinappearstobethetoadiscourserepresentation.Thisviewiscontrastedwithcompetingclaimsint

5、heliteraturethatcausalityonlyemergescauseoftheeventofwriting.Thiskindofjudgmentgoesfromsocialpsychologicalinferencesoroptionalinferencesonunderthelabelimplicitcausalityinthepsycholinguisticbackgroundknowledge.literature.Inthispaperweexplorethedeterminantsofimplicitcausalityinadiscoursemode
