3、fstudyingcognition.Weformerproposal.Webelievethelatterholdsmorepromise.suggestthatthecentralcomponentofcognitionisamemoryOurresearchisbasedonafewfundamentalprinciples.whichisprimarilyassociative,onewherelearningoccursastheFirst,webelievethatamindcannotbedisembodied–itmustcorrelationofeventsfrom
4、diverseinputs.Wealsopositthatinteractwiththerealworld.Second,wepositthatmemoryishuman-likecognitionrequiresawell-integratedsensory-motorsystem,toprovidethesediverseinputs.Asimplementedinourprimarilyassociative,andthatlearningisbasedonthecorre-robot,thissystemincludesbinauralhearing,stereovision
5、,tactilelationofinformationfromdiverseinputs.Third,inhumanssense,andbasicproprioceptivecontrol.Ontopoftheseabilities,andhigheranimals,thesetwoassertionsarefulfilledbyaweareimplementingandstudyingvariousmodelsofprocessing,complexsensory-motorsystem.Wepositthatsuchasystemislearninganddecisionmakin
6、g.Ourgoalistoproducearobotnecessaryforhuman-likecognition.Finally,wesuggestthatthatwilllearntocarryoutsimpletasksinresponsetonaturallanguagerequests.Therobot’sunderstandingoflanguagewillbetheseideasprovidethebasisforamindwhichcanlearnalearnedconcurrentlywithitsothercognitiveabilities.Wehavesema
