3、ever,onlynineadditionalGrsareexpressedinthelabellum,and,basedononereceptor,Gr5a,hasbeenassociatedwithasugar,andittransgenicreporters,allarecoexpressedinsubsetsoftheappearstobeactivatedspecificallybytrehalose.ItisunclearGr66a-positiveGRNs(4,5).Thus,asinmammals(3),itappears
4、whetherothersugarreceptorsareactivatedbysingleormultiplethatthemajorityofGrsparticipateintheperceptionofaversivesugars.Currently,noGrsareknowntocolocalizewithGr5a.Suchcompounds.GrswouldbecandidatesugarreceptorsbecauseGr5a-expressingInadditiontoGr5a,theremustbeadditionals
5、ugar-stimulatedcellsfunctionintheresponsestoattractivetastants.HereweuseGrsbecauseGr5ahasbeenreportedtobetunedspecificallytoan‘‘mRNAtagging’’approachtoidentifyGrRNAsthatarecoex-trehaloseandGr5amutantfliesdisplaynormalbehavioralandpressedwithGr5a.WefoundthatallsevenGrsmos
6、trelatedtoelectrophysiologyresponsestosucrose(26–28).Othersugarrecep-Gr5a(Gr64a-fandGr61a)wereexpressedinGr5a-expressingcells,torswouldappeartobecoexpressedwithGr5abecauseGr5acellswhereasnoneoftheotherGrsexaminedwereenrichedintheseGrrespondtomultiplesugarsinadditiontotre
